Extension
The program always has to be adapted to current conditions, therefore the change of program is reserved.
We begin with grand – the jewels of the imperial Beijing (UNESCO), the Great Wall of China and the traditional Peking duck. We continue even more magnificently, in one of the most beautiful scenery of the world, the Tujia – Zhangjiajie. We will try the world’s highest elevator in the wild, capture the landscape from classic Chinese paintings, and raise our blood pressure on glassed pavements at a dizzying height.
The magnificent architecture of the ancient Hibiscus Town over the waterfall brings us to the area where the Chinese Empire was born. We will come here soon after visiting the millions of years old Red Stone Forrest. A Chinese history tour continues in the Phoenix Town, the most famous city in China. We end up our walk through the history in the town of Qiancheng, still undiscovered by tourists.
From the millennium of ancient China’s feudal history, we are moving into the inconspicuous and magnificent world of tea mountains and forgotten wooden village of the Dong minority, whose drum towers and bridges will stun everyone.
We stay in the countryside of ethnic minorities. Dragon’s Back, the endless rice terraces are up to eight hundred years old and there live Yao women who, according to the Guinness Book, have records of the longest hair in the world.
On the Li River, we sail along the karst scenery of small hills. We will stay in beautiful historic buildings in a peaceful village along the Yulong River.
We will move from Guilin to Shanghai. An old city with classic Chinese gardens is in contrast to Shanghai’s super-modern financial centre. The city I live in will be like on the palm of our hand from the highest viewpoint in the world. Shanghai, but also all of China, I will show you from the point of a man who has been living here for almost ten years and I will get you to an intimate distance to the people and traditions of China.
The Chinese say: Above us are the heavens, Hangzhou and Suzhou are below us. The most beautiful cities in China, which apparently has been visited by Marco Polo. In Hangzhou, we´ll visit the imperial West Lake and, of course, the tea plantations of the most famous Chinese tea Dragon Well.
Suzhou has become famous for its gardens, which have become the inspiration for the two-thousand years of building gardens in China. We´ll wander along the water canals of Venice of China and visit the oldest and largest waterworks of the world – the Great Canal.
